Belkin Nostromo N50 SpeedPad Game Pad

Belkin Nostromo N50 SpeedPad Game Pad

Game Pad, Cable Connectivity, 10 Buttons, Color: Black, For: PC Platforms

The BELKIN n50 SpeedPad is the first gaming device of its kind, a completely new gaming tool that transcends conventional categories such as gamepads and joysticks. The SpeedPad can be best described as a combination keyboard and gamepad. The 10 keys on the n50 act as keys on a keyboard, with the advantage of being easily accessible and intuitively configured. The n50 also has an eight-way directional pad, much like the D-pad on a standard gamepad. It's an innovative, multipurpose tool that will lift your gaming experience to a whole new level.

See Review Great idea and design, my brother likes it, but not me.

Author's Rating:   4

Pros:  Easily scripted, TONS of keys (80 actions maximum!), great design, cheap ($20 at worst)

Cons:  Not for the big-handed, software is sometimes a pain.

The Bottom Line:  Great for average gamer or hardcore, an excellent addition to any computer. But try before you buy, or at least be able to return it (online buying not recommended).

Review:  Well, I bought this for my brother (birthday present), and he certainly likes it. He uses it in EVERY game we have. I don't, for a couple reasons. 1) It's... small. I've got big hands though. I have to bunch up my hand to hit the keys...  Read Full Review  by groxx, Jul 14, 2004

Review:  My home office's"personal work area"has been evolving over the last ten years, and one of the more recent additions I've made to it is the Nostromo N50 SpeedPad. I'm not much on gaming, but this little device looked to be the perfect thing for me to...  Read Full Review  by caradoc, Apr 17, 2004

Review:  I ordered the Speedpad about 3 months ago in hopes that it will improve my gaming significantly. Also after hearing it obtained a 90% from PCGamer Magazine. Review:  The PC keyboard has always been a blessing and a curse for PC gamers. Author's Rating:   5

Pros:  Small, easy to install&setup, will improve your gaming frag count.

Cons:  No new profiles available via internet.

The Bottom Line:  I would recommend this for gamers who enjoy first person shooters. The price they ask is fair and not over costly like some gaming gadgets (Orb comes to mind.)
