Pros: reversable plates for flat grilling of grilled cheese sandwhiches and quesadilla's
Cons: non-stick performance is horrible.
The Bottom Line: I do not recommend this waffle iron. The non-stick faded after a dozen uses, and it is not safe to touch for children.
Review: I purchased this waffle-iron based on the Cooks Illustrated review, which generally gave it positive marks. It is reasonably priced, and has the bonus of having reversable plates. (Waffles on one side, Flat on the other side for grilled cheese,... Read Full Review by mjlawless, Mar 4, 2008
A very handy and non trendy appliance
Pros: A versatile workhorse that should last for years
Cons: Extremely thin non stick coating on plates Outer shell gets dangerously hot
The Bottom Line: If you like grilled sandwiches, pancakes or waffles at home, you need this. For adult use only, I'd reccommend this particular appliance.
Review: This unit replaced a similar Black&Decker grill that gave up the ghost after a decade or so. Specifically, the heating wires in the unit started to break, and I got tired of taking it apart to re splice the wires. This unit has Calrod like heating... Read Full Review by Arlo_J, Nov 27, 2007
Like My Black and Decker Grill and Waffle Maker
Pros: Makes great crisp waffles and clean up is a breeze.
Cons: My only negative remark is that it cooks the waffles slowly
The Bottom Line: I would highly recommend this product
Review: After having a GE waffle iron for 20 years, it was definitely time to replace it as I was getting tired of sticking waffles. I kept asking for a new one for Christmas. Alas, I did not receive one so I took it upon myself to buy me one after the first of... Read Full Review by ms11145, Mar 22, 2007
Pros: Easy to clean with removable grill, multi-purpose, even heat, large cooking area
Cons: wish it had a timer
The Bottom Line: Worth the money if ease of cleaning and multi-purpose are at the top of your list. It's the best you can get for the money in those categories.
Review: I love this waffle iron! The main reason I chose to buy this iron was for the removable grills. My last waffle iron was so hard to keep clean that I wanted to be sure my next one had removable grills. The first thing I did was season the grills... Read Full Review by lindihight, Jul 21, 2006
Pros: Consistently great waffles
Cons: Hot to touch
The Bottom Line: null
Review: We have had this model for 13+ years and it has been a workhorse. Great waffles every week and grilled cheese sandwiches too. Only reason we need to replace is that the non-stick is starting to go. We are looking to replace it and have another 13+... Read Full Review by sourdoughphil, Nov 18, 2005
Don't waffle, this is the (pancake) grill of your dreams!
Pros: versatile: removable dual purpose grids, open or closed grilling
Cons: no cool touch exterior
The Bottom Line: Easy to clean, easy to use, makes great pancakes and waffles, shiny chrome styling. I've gotten a lot of use out of it in the past year.
Review: Well, it's a new year, so it is time for another review. I certainly don't lack products to review, but I like to use them for awhile before reviewing them and inevitably the review falls by the wayside. Not this time, however. I'm reviewing a product... Pros: Good design, appears heavy duty, removable plates for cleaning
Cons: Poor durability, high price.
The Bottom Line: Don't buy it, it doesn't last!
Review: This waffle iron looks like the one my parents had and worked well for years. My wife and I carefully checked out waffle irons before we bought one - we thought we'd have it for years, too, so we thought we'd spend the bucks for it. This model cost abou... Pros: Great tasting waffles Easy to clean - grids separate from the machine
Cons: None
The Bottom Line: This is the best waffle maker out there that I could find --and I tried a few.
Review: I had a previous version of this waffle maker for 15 years, and finally it needed to be replaced. I bought two other waffle irons and was greatly disappointed in their performance. The Black&Decker hasn't changed much at all -the new model is almost... Read Full Review by zachdave, May 14, 2003
Waffles from the country of Black&Decker
Pros: Good looking, easy to use, makes GREAT WAFFLES!
Cons: It is NOT A COOL TOUCH for sure!
The Bottom Line: If it weren't for the EXTREME HEAT feature, I would give this 5 Stars! It is a great appliance but must be used with care.
Review: Christmas time comes once a year, and with it, comes a lot of cheer. But not necessarily just what you wanted! Our family has gotten too large to exchange individual gifts, so my daughter came up with the brainstorm to draw names and, with a... Read Full Review by lorace, Jul 1, 2002
Pros: easy to use, easy to clean with removable plates, waffles take 5 minutes
Cons: heating to begin batch takes about 8 minutes
The Bottom Line: If you want to be a master waffle maker, try this model and you will not want to eat frozen breakfast items or cold cereal ever again.
Review: I bought this wafflemaker because I was tired of frozen waffles and my children loved waffles for breakfast and dinner. I really love this product because it is so easy to use and even more easy to clean. The waffles are so much more tastier than frozen... Read Full Review by Slateman, Apr 19, 2001

Review: I have wanted the Black& Decker Grill and Wafflebaker for quite a while, but didn't really know if it was worth the money.
