The PowerShot G9 gives you an extra-large 3.0-inch LCD screen for excellent control when framing your shots. But size is only part of the story. Canon's PureColor LCD II offers more spectacular color, resolution, and contrast even at an angle (compared to PureColor LCD). The screen is highly durable and easy to see in any light with a scratch-resistant, anti-reflective coating. It is a perfect feature for gathering friends and family around to see your images.

I bought the G9 several months ago and planned to use it as an underwater camera. I am leaving on a dive trip in several weeks and checked the new camera. The screen is cracked. I have yet to take the first picture with the camera. A cracked screen of a brand new camera is evidently not covered by warranty to the tune of $170. Well .... maybe it takes good picture.

Great Camera

I bought the canon G9 back in June from here at Amazon just before I left for World Youth Day in Sydney in July. I did a lot of research because I wanted the best. This is by far the best digital camera I've owned so far, the last being a canon S80. I was not disappointed!
The pictures come out crystal clear with a nice light balance in Automatic setting. I was with a group of people and we were at a cathedral way in the back and I was able to zoom in all the way and get good shots. The other guys I was with tried to get a good shot with their cameras but theirs came out very blurry or too dark. They asked me to send my pics to them!!
It is a little big for some, but my gosh, the quality of the camera totally outweighs the ultra compact designs. For me it wasn't too bulky because I have pretty large hands.
If you've been shopping for a new digital camera, look no further. This one takes the cake!
