G-Shock
Author's Rating:
I purchased my first G-Shock because I was impressed with the Casio Gz-One cell phones. I used to stay away from Casio until my employer issued me the military grade phone. I used to associate Casio with a cheaper grade of electronics. Not anymore. I am very impressed.
Excellent watch looks good, fairly easy to set and operate. Once you set it up, you should never have to set the time again. The face is a bit hard to read at times, especially in low light situations. The LEDs don't light up the watch face all that well. But ironically, I do use the light to find my way around in the dark (it's just bright enough that you wont hit the coffee table in the middle of the night).
The auto light feature comes in handy. At times it can be a distraction. It's easy to turn this feature off with one button.
The only suggestion I have to someone purchasing this watch is to place it in the sunlight for a bit to fully charge the battery. There is no telling how long it's been boxed up and away from its power source (the sun). I work inside in a windowless office and have never had an issue with the watch being solar.
Excellent watch, tough as nails and looks much better in person than I expected. Good buy.

It's a Casio G-Shock. I think that should about cover it. Anyone who has owned one will tell you just how reliable and accurate they are.I owned another one of these but with the ss bracelet and case. I gave that one to my son.I missed it so much that even though I own many other watches I had to have another one. There is a substantial difference between the ss version and this one,but it is hard to find that one anymore. I would caution that if the alarm is important to you, find another model. This will do just fine as an all around outdoor watch for me until I can decide which Pathfinder I want.

Excellent watch
Author's Rating:
My husband loves this watch. It's nice and rugged--it has a big protection for the face, which is great since he always seems to bang up other watches. He loves the fact that it is set to the atomic clock. Very cool. It has a lot of features. Excellent price compared to other websites.

Casio Watch
Author's Rating:
This product shipped efficiently and looked great; however, the instruction manual was photocopied(didn't appear to be the original)and held together with a staple. The box was made of flimsy looking cardboard. Despite the watches dilapidated facade, the cost was impressive, the watch looks beautiful and the person for whom it was meant, loved it. I highly recommend the watch if one can see beyond its casing.

Casio Solar Atomic Watch
Author's Rating:
This is a great little watch. It does exactly what it says it will do.
It charges its battery from indoor light, and it sets its time from the WWVB tranmitter in Ft. Collins, Colorado each night. It has all the other ususal features: Stopwatch, alarm, digital and analog view, date, date of week, etc.
I own 6 other watches and this is a nice addition.

nice watch

This is a really nice watch at an excellent price. I have enjoyed the movement activated light up feature. I will admit that the light is not bright enough, but still a quality watch.

Pros: Atomic, analog digital, Solar, tough, etc. I'm a computer technician and I need a tough watch; I have a different model that I need to get the battery changed out it is three years old and still going. This same watch is going for $40 to $70 more at discount retail stores! The light display is cool.
Cons: The hour hand is red. Why??? Would give it a five if hour hand was normal.
Still you can't beat the price for a cheap solid atomic time-keeping and solar powered watch.

If You Can You Read It, You'll Like It
Author's Rating:
Very very nice looking, but unless you have 20/20 vision forget it. Microscopic icons, text lettering and display settings are almost
illegible---Casio should include a free magnifying glass. Even the 5 pages of confusing instructions are in microprint, so you may not even try
to use all the bells and whistles. Glad I didn't pay full retail!

G-Shcok GW1500, typical G quality with a bit of flash
Pros: One of the nicest looking Gs. Typical G quality
Cons: Quiet alarm. Hands dont glow as long as i'd like
The Bottom Line: I like Gs to start with, and this just ads a more classy option to the line-up. Definately worth checking out.
Review: I have a few G-Shocks and I am familiar with the quality and toughness of the construction. This particular model has the same reliability and durability that I have come to expect from the G. Along with the usual G features and construction, you also...
