Amazon Review Great for travel

Author's Rating:   4

Bought this before going on a trip to Germany hoping it would be stable enough for my 30D paired with a 70-200 2.8L IS lens. Setting it up as a tripod is definitely not enough to support the weight (although I assumed it wouldn't); the legs would buckle and the whole thing would collapse. However, when secured to the top of a railing, the head held up just fine. With all the other lens I have the pod works amazingly well; I even figured out how to set it up vertically to get some interesting ground shots. Highly recommended!

Amazon Review Works with SLR

Author's Rating:   5

I own Canon 30D and Canon 24-105mm f/4 L IS Lens so I decided to buy GP3 (slr zoom) version of this pod. Works better than I expected... this pod is stable enough to handle my camera (30D with my lens weight is about 1,4 Kg), I'm taking it often with me, good for taking pictures in nature without need to take my regular tripod.

Maybe it works also as it's shown at pictures, like mounted on tree or telephone post, but I love my 30D tooooo much to try it ;)

Amazon Review Gorrila pod review

Author's Rating:   3

This is a great product. Make sure you go by the model recommendations on the joby website. I had a Canon A 620 and the basic Gorillapod cannot take the weight of this heavy camera (even though its not an SLR), so I had to go for the gorrilapod SLR. Works great, can be easily wound around any support. I also tried to use it on a fixed support on a small cement mound near the Eifell tower and works well that way too. Make sure you wrap the legs around real tight. I would recommend this product.

Amazon Review Use this tripod to take photos anywhere!

Author's Rating:   5

My husband and I use our gorillapod constantly to set up self-timer photos in unusual settings and where no one else is around. I.e., perched on a rock near waterfalls, wrapped around metal poles or tree branches, propped on the hood of our Jeep. This is a must-have if you like to take photos outside and stray from common tourist destinations. It works great for small and mid-size cameras. I'm not sure it would support the weight of a larger model. The legs are fully adjustable and the top swivels up and down which allows various photo angles. It's about 8 inches long and folds up slim which makes it easy to pack. I have also bought gorillapods for 2 family members already and we all love them.

Amazon Review Joby GP1-EGEN

Author's Rating:   5

This review is for the Joby GP1-EGEN Gorillapod Flexible Tripod (Green)

I love it!

Great with my Canon PowerShot SD750 even on vertical mode! It's also easy to carry as I just hang one of the leg inside my small camera bag (Case Logic TBC-3) and secure it with the zipper.

Amazon Review Get a grip!

The only tripod I had until recently was collapsible yet amazingly heavy. As such, it spends more time in my drawer than in my bag. Recent outings with my Flip Mino have proven that no matter how steady I think my stance is, I shake more than a chihuahua in February. I had seen the original Gorillapod some time back but couldn't justify the purchase since I rarely took photos at the time.

Taking a cue from a friend who records his Mino Thoughts while navigating California traffic, I looked into Joby's latest release - the Gorillapod GoGo. Their "mobile entertainment kit" includes the original Gorillapod tripod, a standard screw mount for digital cameras, a suction mount and two adhesive mounts.

As you can see from the photo, the flexible legs will allow for mounting pretty much anywhere. Can't find a flat surface? Wrap it around a branch. Just a teensy bit too high? Ball joints allow you to adjust as teensy a bit as you need. The feet are rubberized, as well as the ring around each joint, making for a secure and non-slip grip. I like the inclusion of the suction mount - perfect for iPhone/iPod viewing. I can't imagine myself using the adhesive clips on any of my toys but they are pretty sleek and low-profile. It's probably more of a problem to me since I lean towards white for my gadgetry and the clips are black.

One undocumented use that I've discovered is "desk toy". I'm forever picking it up and flexing the legs around. But I'm not playing...no. I'm...stress testing! Yeah, that's it. Stress testing.

For around thirty bucks, it's certainly not a purchase that needs justification. If you have gear - cell phones, cameras, PDAs, MP3 players, GPS units - you have a reason to look into the Gorillapod GoGo.

Amazon Review Versatile

Great device! Helps in taking night pictures (long shutter exposure), definitely great with taking timed picture shots. You need to look for something to attach it on if you want some height.

Amazon Review If Handy Is Priority...

Author's Rating:   4

This is a decent little tripod. More 3.5 star in my opinion, but I rounded it up because of its versatility from having both multiple applications [legs to stand on or claw-style grip] and multiple clips allowing the Gorillapod to attach to a variety of devices.

I like the compact size. It can be easily carried inside of just about any case you might be taking with you. And as flexible as it is, it can even fit comfortably in your pants pocket if you so desire.

This one is definitely for the smaller, shirt pocket sized point-and-shoot cameras...nothing too heavy, such as my old, bulky Sony CD Mavica, as the legs will go flat underneath it.

Also, I absolutely would NOT trust this thing to keep even a small camera safe in any precarious positions. If there's nowhere for your camera to fall and smash into bits, then this sized Gorillapod is just right.

Additionally, there is enough rigidity in the flexible legs to wrap to grip onto a mesh fence or something as well and it would hold nicely.

Each leg is about five inches long, and the balls which the legs consist of are each just slightly larger than a half inch in diameter.

The Joby GP1-M1EN Gorillapod GoGo Flexible Tripod is convenient and it does some useful things which a traditional tripod will not.

Handy product.

Amazon Review Pricey but Nice

Author's Rating:   4

The product is as multi use and flexible as advertised. At +20$ the price is a bit steep for what you are getting but if you order it, you'll be happy with the product.
