Oster Rice Cooker Steamer - Double Decker Model
Pros: Quick. Healthy foods. Double stack. Easy clean up.
Cons: No real recipes. Very steamy. Better on some foods than others.
The Bottom Line: The Oster Rice Cooker Steamer is a handy kitchen appliance for cooking healthy foods.
Review: I bought the Oster 10 cup rice cooker and steamer so I could cook some healthier meals with steam rather than with oil in the frying pan. The Oster steamer is a double dish model, so I envisioned tossing in the food, kicking back and having a healthy... Read Full Review by CyndiA, Dec 27, 2007
Preparing garden veggies for the freezer
Pros: Fast,non-messy has low water shut off, set ahead timer and keep warm setting.
Cons: Rice steamer bowl could be bigger. Larger fish curl up because bowl is too small.
The Bottom Line: If you have a large garden you need this steamer.
Review: No more standing over steaming kettles of tomato sauce for me. This summer I am using my steamer to process garden veggies for the freezer. I drop tomatoes into boiling water to remove the skins, core them, and put them into the rice cooker bowl... Read Full Review by salemskeptic, Aug 1, 2007
Do not buy this if you are steaming rice

Compact, Yet Roomy, Heats Quickly.
Pros: Affordable, easy to operate, clean, and maintain.
Cons: Poor positioning of vent holes in lid, BURN HAZARD! BE CAREFUL!
The Bottom Line: Highly recommended. Great product, great price. Just be careful of the lid, don't let kiddos use without supervision.
Review: This Rice Cooker, or Steamer, is compact, yet roomy, produces steam quickly, is a breeze to clean, and was very affordable priced at $29.95 at both Lowe's and Target. I personally bought mine to steam hamburgers. Yes, hamburgers. It goes back to a... Read Full Review by aries98, Apr 8, 2006

Eating is healthier with the Oster Food Steamer 5712 Rice Cooker
Pros: Healthier tasting food.
Cons: Could be dangerous if top is not taken off correctly.
The Bottom Line: Steam a lot of food for healthier eating instead of boiling, microwaving, or frying.
Review: OK, I admit it, I can be influenced by people hawking healthier eating gadgets. So on my Christmas list is a steamer/rice cooker. My obliging hubby buys me a steamer of sorts, but it was a steamer/fryer! Not exactly what I had in mind. So with his... Read Full Review by ktryathart1, Mar 5, 2004
