Would have given it 5 stars if not for the system locking up three times in the past month. Had to do a soft restart to get things going. Read on the net that this is most likely caused by the recent software download.
But what the heck, I love TIVO!

Cons: Slooow interface, instabilities, loooong reboot, subscription required for basic function
The Bottom Line: An intelligent video recorder with HD capabilities, but with a lot of infancy problems and restrictive DRM.
