Description is WRONG!
Author's Rating:
I bought this watch over others mainly because the feature list clearly states "dual time zone" which is key for me. I don't know why Amazon would say this when it is very clear when the watch arrived that this is most definitely NOT a dual time zone watch. The picture shows some extra hands; both of these hands are for the alarm. Neither one is involved with a separate time zone. Some more research on the web revealed that Timex does not claim this is a dual time zone watch and neither does anyone else on the web. Amazon just fabricated that feature out of thin air! Very disappointing. But if, like me, you need a two time zone watch, look elsewhere.

Handsome watch
Author's Rating:
This is a very handsome watch, and a real bargain from Timex. I especially like the easy-to-set alarm, much easier to set than on most digital watches. The Indiglo feature also makes it the perfect "movie" watch, and the chronograph features comes in handy from time to time.
In my opinion I can only find two problems with the watch: 1. It's a little on the thick side, but then it's not a $1000 watch and it has a lot of features stuffed into it. 2. The chronograph only goes up to 30 minutes.
This watch will make a great gift for just about any guy, or yourself, and if you don't see the Timex logo it looks like it costs a lot more than it does. I have some very expensive watches that don't look this good, and if I lose or break this one I'll just get another. Heck, at today's prices it's less than a tank of gas.

Good Watch
Author's Rating:
Great looking watch. Only problem is that within 1 week, one of the two loops for the strap broke and it is hardly worthwhile to send it back for repair. I suppose a watch shop can replace the strap easily/cheaply. Time will tell.

I like it
Author's Rating:
I like it and would buy it again. Likes: fairly inexpensive, looks good, good elapsed timer, easy set alarm, glows brightly in the dark and the light is cool. Weaknesses: Tachymeter is stupid (measures nothing worthy of measurement), the Tachymeter white against black is too bright, the wrist band is stiff and needs to be yanked to put the watch on (makes me wonder how long it'll last), and the minute hand sometimes hides the elapsed timer. I like that it has old school hands and dials instead of digital readouts, and yet it also has the features of a digital watch with alarm and elapsed timer.

Nothing Better
Author's Rating:
Everything about this watch is awesome. I have never had a better watch... ever. Only complaint is that the loose perpendicular strip of leather that holds the band in place does not do its job very well. It slides up off the band and the band ends up hanging down. I haven't found a way to fix it yet, but I'm working on it. However, that is a small complaint compared to the awesomeness of this relatively inexpensive timepiece... Just look at it!!

Really nice watch for an excellent price

I got this watch for my husband's birthday. He loved it! I purchased it to replace his old work watch and he will only wear it for good. It looks great on his wrist. Very Masculine!

Stylish, Sturdy & Functional At a Great Price...
Author's Rating:
To be honest, I am not a watch person. I stopped wearing watches as an adult since it seemed in my suit-and tie world the watch always caught on my sleeve cuff all day long. Plus, in this digital age there are clocks everywhere. Recently I have purchased a couple of ultra-thin dress watches for business.
However, I seemed to have a need for a casual "sport-type" watch and this Timex Expedition fit the bill. I'm not a watch snob and the Timex name and quality is fine by me. The watch is very sturdy and keeps excellent time as one would expect with any watch. To my eye, the black on black of this model is very appealing. This is a great looking watch. In making this purchase I decided that I would try a chronograph because there have been a few occasions where I thought it would be handy to have this ability. I used it once already for that function and it was great to have the chrono dials. Plus, what the heck, they look cool. The Indiglo night light function and alarm settings are a nice plus.
All in all, a really nice looking functional watch at a great price.
One caveat however...and it has to do with my earlier comment about the sleeve cuff issue. Forget wearing this rather thick watch with a dress shirt. I even have problems with casual button up shirts with sleeves and cuff buttons. I am sitting here writing this with the buttons on my sleeve cuff unbuttoned. When buttoned first, even at the "loose" button, I cannot get the shirt over the watch. If I button the cuff after I put the watch on I can't get the cuff over the watch to see the time! I guess this watch, or those similar in thickness, are only meant to wear with short-sleeve shirts or stretch buttonless shirts.

Just "techie" enough...

I'm a network engineer and gadget lover, but I prefer analog watches to digitals...it's just a personal style thing.
I've had Timex watches since I was a kid and they've always been reliable, so when I was watch-shopping on Amazon and found this model, I bought it immediately.
So far, the Expedition has kept good time. Also, it looks good, its overall ruggedness is a plus in my line of work and the chronograph features appeal to my "inner techie."

Very pleased.
Author's Rating:
Overall, a good value for a solid, attractive, multi-function watch.
Substantial feel but not too heavy. Leather band is comfortable and attractive. Can select to move only the hour hand and that's handy when crossing time zones or when setting the calendar date. Alarm works well and is easy to set. Wish the minute hand was a bit thicker; it sometimes take a half-second or so to discern it on the busy watch face. Would have preferred a rotating minute bezel rather than the fixed tachymeter bezel but not a big deal.
Some have complained that the chronograph second hand doesn't reset to the 12:00 position. That's because they played with the buttons before reading all the instructions and accidentally pressed the time-set crown while the second hand was resetting (like I did). This is easily fixed by pressing the time-set crown just as the second hand crosses the 12 position (or whatever position you want the second hand to reset to).
